I cannot thank Yosef and Rebecca enough at ‘Diablo Dormido Weddings’ for introducing us to Upper Las Virgenes and helping us pull off our dream wedding. They were there for us every step of the way, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I could not imagine the last few months without them. They took care of all the last planning details, bringing everything together seamlessly. It was amazing that my husband and I were able to relax and focus on each other before the wedding, and not have to worry about lighting, rentals, bathrooms, etc. Because of Yosef and his crew, we were relaxed and totally present for our wedding day. It is hard to put into words how perfect the venue is, but I’ll try to give you an idea. As you turn onto the country road leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the busy city you are welcomed by gorgeous open views and the calm sounds of nature. The venue is set atop a mountain surrounded by giant eucalyptus trees and beautiful rolling hills. Since it is located on a natural preserve, there are no buildings for miles around. It truly is magical. Our guests raved about the location for the wedding and we heard such wonderful things. Looking back, we would not change one thing about our wedding day. My husband and I got married with Diablo Dormido and I am still processing how beautiful everything was. We sat at the sweetheart table around sunset, eating a delicious dinner and looking at all of our guests, with the stunning vistas and little twinkly lights all around us, and we said, this is more beautiful than we had imagined it could be. From the moment over a year ago when we visited, met Yosef for the first time, to the day of our wedding, he and Rebecca, plus the wonderful vendors that they recommended: Dana Barrett Gabriel our coordinator, Dan Molnar our caterer, Ken Craft our officiant, Karl Grossman who played the Spanish Guitar, Kelly Bockoven our florist, and several more– all went above and beyond to get us to that dream. Every one of our guests had driven from far away or traveled from far away, and we wanted to give them that rustic, lovely, bohemian, outdoor “California dream” and we got it! Our guests “got” our vision and I think every last one of them wanted to move there afterwards! We got raves about how stunning the venue was and how beautiful the views were. I cannot wait to see the professional photos and share them with the Rosen’s to post on their site. If you are a couple who appreciates personal touches and care, not being treated like a “number” and like one of many couples that are squeezed in on one day/or one weekend, and loves the outdoors and a bohemian rustic style, this is THE venue for you. No need to look anywhere else!!

OMG – my daughter Nicole’s wedding to Jake was way beyond belief and went off without a hitch mainly due to the expert organization of these two gracious people…a fairyland setting, a gourmet meal under the stars and twinkling lights, a few firepits…you provide the bride and groom and the wedding will be one you’ll always remember. My husband and I got married with the help of “Diablo Dormido” last spring, and after reading the amazing reviews, I never thought I could share a detail someone hadn’t already raved about. Looking back at wedding photos recently, I was reminded of how ABSOLUTLEY PERFECT our entire experience was, and though it’s been some time, I just had to share… If you’re looking for a stress-free wedding planning collaboration with amazing recommended (but not forced) vendors; a charming, rustic, yet stunning outdoor setting; a gorgeous get-away off the beaten path and away from the hustle ‘n bustle of city life; fabulous hosts who make you feel like family; and an overall dream wedding day that will make your guests gush for months after, you MUST trust the Diablo Dormido team. It was the best money we’ve ever spent, the most beautiful and intimate wedding we’ve ever been to, and Rebecca and Yosef are the most gracious, laid-back, yet hard-working people you’ll ever meet. They will work with you to help create the kind of celebration you want. The moment they introduced us to the ranch and we met the Rosens, we knew this was it, and we'll always be grateful for that decision as we look back fondly on our big day. ~ Chelsea and Parker Bent ~ And a quick note on the preferred vendors: Going with the owners’ “favorites” was the second-best decision we ever made! Our “Day of Coordinator”, Dana Barrett Gabriel, lovingly advised us along the way and made for a smooth and stress-free 48-hours and beyond. Our chef, Dan Molnar, designed and executed a feast fit for royalty and managed to stay within our budget. And with no cheese-factor whatsoever, Dave, the easy-going DJ, seamlessly filled the night with music we wanted and his rates were reasonable to boot!

Everything was enchanting. I literally just had my wedding 48 hours ago with the help of Diablo Dormido and it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I found Yosef & Rebecca randomly as I was doing online searches for wedding planners, and it was the first and only place we saw. After visiting, we sent in our deposit the very next day to secure our date. My biggest worry was that the day wouldn’t go smoothly, however with the help of my vendors (many that were referrals from Yosef and Rebecca), my day-of-coordinator, and the Rosens themselves, I pretty much sat around until I had to walk down the aisle. And the site they introduced us to is breathtaking, with all of their greenery and panoramic canyon/mountain views. I also love that the setting was intimate and rustic, just like us. Every single one of my guests complemented our wedding and many of my single guests commented on wanting to get married with the Diablo Dormido team. Our wedding planning experience was to be quite honest, pretty low stress and I think alot of that had to do with the fact that we really surrounded ourselves with just kind and supportive people who seemed genuinely happy and excited for us. I cannot express enough how magical this place is! Like the previous reviews say, if you want something truly breathtaking and magical (and like super helpful people) then hurry up and go visit the venue asap as their dates for the upcoming year fill up (understandably) fast.

When we first arrived at the ranch and met Yosef of Diablo Dormido Weddings, we didn’t even feel like we were in L.A., even though we were just minutes from the 101. It is very hard to say anything negative about your own wedding day because of how special of a moment it truly is. With that being said, my wife and I were absolutely blown away by how special the staff made this very special day even more special for us. We thought the amazing views and setting would be enough to make us happy and give our guests an absolutely unforgettable experience. It did, but even better, was the level of service and attention to detail by all of the staff members. The setting made us truly feel like we were in our own world, but there were so many other moments we were told that we would forget, or never experience because of the craziness of the day, but we truly were able to experience all of them. I am not one that usually takes somebody’s word when they say, “Trust me, we got this”, but I can say that without a doubt, I would trust these people with this statement with any other future event. They went way above and beyond in all aspects and exceeded all of our expectations in every way. Thank you so much for all of your work, and I would recommend anybody who is serious about having a wonderful experience to take serious consideration in choosing this team! We just had our wedding that the ULV with the Diablo Dormido team a couple weekends ago and it was everything we wanted it to be. All of our friends and family had nothing but wonderful things to say about the venue, the service and the breathtaking scenery. Yosef and Rebecca (the head planners of Diablo Dormido Weddings) were incredibly easy and awesome to work with because they genuinely cared about making our wedding the best it could be. We had a small wedding of 30 people and it was perfect. Yosef, Rebecca, and all their help staff worked magic. Small details were taken care of and they made every opportunity to make sure that everything went smoothly. A gorgeous setting to get married – We wanted something a little more unique (ie: not the typical hall or ballroom), outdoors, closer to the coast, and we wanted the option to bring in our own caterer. My future sister in law was tasked with helping us meet our criteria and the venue she found was introduced to her and hosted by Diablo Dormido. After visiting the place and meeting with Yosef in August, we booked it (and the Diablo team) for our wedding in October 2010. I remember that initial meeting and one of the questions Yosef asked us was “What do you want your wedding to be”? My fiancee answered “Fun,” and that was the phrase we could all hang our hats onto. Over the next year we went about planning and Yosef was very helpful and accommodating. The month leading up to the wedding we visited the site several more times to finalize details and setup and Yosef was extremely helpful and was able to pass along suggestions from previous weddings they held. Late October (the 23rd) we held our wedding with 150 guests. We were dodging rain the days leading up to the wedding and the forecast was for cooler temperatures. The day before we went to the site to drop off some supplies for the wedding when Yosef let us know he had made arrangements for additional heaters, and said we need not pay for them if we didn’t use them but got them just in case. Well, they were needed and thankfully we had them on hand as it was a cool night. I mention this because it goes to Yosef’s attention to detail and service, plus it didn’t cost us anything up front. The wedding was a year in the making and my bride and I both agree it was fantastic. The setting is gorgeous, Yosef and his staff were on top of everything. The level of service and attention to detail was amazing. They coordinated perfectly with our caterer and we could not find one item that was overlooked. We received many compliments on the setting, and the overall event. It was more than we expected and we would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a special location to start their journey together. Ours got off to great start and it’s only up from there.

When my husband, Jeff, and I started looking for a venue for our wedding, we had a very clear idea of what we wanted. Both of us agreed that we wanted an outdoor wedding in a beautiful and offbeat venue, and that we wanted nothing to do with ballrooms, restaurants and country clubs. We wanted something remote, either near the ocean or in the mountains. With this information, we began our search on Google. It was Diablo Dormido Wedding’s uncanny name that first captured our attention, they showed us several locations, but it was the breathtaking beauty of ULV they showed us, and the kindness and mindfulness of Yosef and Rebecca that kept it for good! They, and the wedding coordinator they recommended, worked with us for nearly 6 months to help us realize our vision. Their efforts, and those of the vendors we had selected ourselves prior to finding the venue, culminated in the most wonderful day of our lives. Yosef, Rebecca looked into every single request we made and went above and beyond to honor what was possible. They answered all our questions, helped problem solve, made suggestions when necessary, and took care of all the small details that went into making our wedding a truly beautiful, unique, super fun, indulgent event. Diablo Dormido and its staff, were perfectly suited for us. Full of character, and embracing in its little details, the venue mirrors what we most cherish about our own relationship and the relationship we have with our families and friends. Without hesitation, and if big celebrations weren’t such a big to-do, I would book their venue every weekend, just to have another excuse to celebrate there! It was simply remarkable!

My husband Alex and I just had our wedding with the help of the Diablo Dormido team last weekend…it was hands down the best day of our lives. Alex and I knew exactly what we were looking for in regards to a wedding planner -what we didn’t know however was if they existed. So on a Sunday morning full of Google searches, I came across Diablo's website. Alex and I set up time to meet them right away…and we knew instantly upon arrival that Yosef and his team were the ones we needed to work with. To be honest I was not looking forward to this whole wedding planning process…but when we sat down with Yosef & Rebecca I knew we were in good hands. They were there every step of the way to assist with planning, ideas, vendor recommendations, and never once was there a lack of communication. Because of this we knew that the day of we could just relax and enjoy, confident that each and every detail and all the behind the scenes would be executed flawlessly…and it was. I know it’s only been a week but we still have friends and family talking about it. A frequent comment is that our wedding was” the best wedding they had ever been to”…I’d have to agree with them  Thank you Yosef, Rebecca and all of the amazing vendors and staff for being so accommodating, warm & welcoming. All our thanks to Y&R, the owners of Diablo Dormido Weddings who introduced us to the state owned venue in the mountains over Calabasas. We had a magical ceremony at sunset overlooking the amazing views and then an awesome party on the grassy mountain-top that went on until midnight. All of it went off without a hitch and we ended up way under budget. The setting is so rustic and beautiful, the grounds are so peaceful. We had an authentic Brazilian Churrasco BBQ and spectacular live music. We could not have been happier and give our highest recommendation. We could have permitted the raw venue from the State without the Diablo team, but it would have paled in comparison given the spectacular service, vendor referrals, hard work, and LOVE that Yosef and Rebecca contribute to our most memorable day.

We had our wedding at the ULV with the Diablo Dormido team, and it was exactly what we wanted: The complete opposite of the stale hotel ballroom wedding. Not only are the grounds they introduced us to stunning, warm, romantic and private, but Yosef and Rebecca are true experts at weddings and worked with professionalism and charm. Their knowledge and great energy totally calmed our pre-wedding jitters, and they didn’t nickel and dime us with hidden fees and service charges. They also gave us the flexibility to either bring in our own vendors or use theirs, so we ended up spending way less than we would have at a comparable location that forced us to use their expensive "recommended" vendors. This place is awesome and if you are looking for a warm, magical non-traditional wedding we think this is the best in town.

This is the best kept secret for a wedding experience. The ranch that Yosef introduced us to is private, intimate and absolutely gorgeous, and Yosef and Rebecca and their staff were incredibly dedicated to making our wedding sheer perfection. Nestled in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains is a ranch with breathtaking views and a team of wedding producers with an intriguingly captivating name. Diablo Dormido is the team that Sally and I entrusted with our wedding this past weekend and we couldn’t imagine having our wedding with anyone else. I must admit, as beautiful as the place was, I was not initially sold on the idea of having an outdoor wedding as my lack of imagination (according to my wife) was swaying me more towards the banquet halls and country clubs as the primary candidates for our wedding venue. Sally was not having it. To her credit, she stuck to her guns and insisted that we must have our wedding at the location introduced to us by Diablo Dormido. And to Yosef and Rebecca’s credit, they made it affordable for us to have the wedding of our dream. Yosef was very creative in packaging some essential elements that we were going to need (catering, alcohol, etc.). Rebecca was very helpful with planning out the details and executing them on the “day of”. Both of them were just really a pleasure to work with. “How did you do all this?!? It’s beautiful!” was a popular first comment from a lot of our guests. That really reaffirmed our (ok, ok, Sally’s) choice in working with Diablo Dormido Weddings. In additional to the compliments on the venue they introduced us to, our guests really liked our food and drinks which was also arranged by Yosef and Rebecca. The staff was cordial and accommodating from top to bottom. Overall, we and our guests had an incredible wedding experience and we have Diablo Dormido to thank for it.

Only positive, wonderful things can be said about every single aspect of Diablo Dormido Weddings. Our wedding two weeks ago turned out even better than I ever imagined possible, and all because of Yosef, Rebecca, their skilled team, and our coordinator. We did a number of things ourselves to save money and add personal touches (flowers, decor, bar and beverage supplies, photo booth), and my biggest fear was that we, and our family and friends, would be stressed out and not enjoy the wedding. I should have known better. Not only did they walk us through the planning process and help in every way possible, but as soon as we arrived for the rehearsal on Friday, Rebecca took the reins and we barely lifted a finger for the next three days. On the day of, every time I turned around Rebecca was bringing me my beverage of choice, a snack, whatever I needed and it was done. My mom later told me that when she arrived early to the wedding to help setup a few things that I thought we would need done, Rebecca wouldn’t let her do any sort of work and instead brought her a drink and told her to relax and enjoy! THAT was exactly what I wanted from a wedding – stress free for all of our loved ones. We just gave a few simple directions on how we wanted things to look and everything was put together even better than we envisioned (we had a couple friends in charge of some of the more intense DIY projects, but the majority of the execution and overseeing how it all came together is credited to Rebecca and her team). You barely even noticed the staff swiftly making everything happen as the weekend unfolded. That is real professionalism and exactly what you want on your wedding day.

Like the other reviewers say, Diablo Dormido will help you create a truly magical wedding. We’ve continued to hear the “most” comments from guests – most beautiful, intimate, romantic, perfect, etc. wedding they’d ever been to. Diablo provides the full package for the couple who wants a low maintenance but guaranteed memorable, gorgeous event. An atmosphere that exudes warmth as soon as you enter and a team of people who you can absolutely trust to pull it off above and beyond your expectations. You will get so much more when you book with Diablo Dormido. The moment you sign on, they help you to bring all the different aspects together that will culminate in a wedding that looks and feels like a dream.

Diablo Dormido was the perfect team to entrust with our wedding. We knew it the first time we met them and we still felt it when we left on our wedding night. And apparently, so did many of our guests. In fact, we lost track of the number of times friends and family came up to us and told us this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The surrounding canyon was gorgeous. The grounds were beautiful. We could clearly feel the love and time Yosef and Rebecca put into our event and the sense of how much they enjoyed sharing it with us. We never lost that intimate feeling, so unlike the sterile feel of so many wedding banquet halls. At the same time, they allowed us to decorate as we saw fit and produce exactly the ceremony and reception that we wanted. They were very helpful in supplying names of vendors when we needed them but also very accommodating allowing us to bring in our own when it suited us. On the day of the wedding, their mindfulness of the many extra details that inevitably arise was a constant source of support, but even more importantly, throughout the whole process, they showed a great balance of professional and personal touch.

Three months later and we still cannot stop thinking about our wedding at this gorgeous location introduced to us by the Diablo Dormido Wedding plannng team. The love we felt that day was overwhelming and we are blessed to have been surrounded by our family and friends during such a momentous time in our lives. The mountains were enchanting and served as the perfect backdrop to our intimate celebration. However, a wonderful venue alone is not enough. A lot of planning is required to pull off an amazing wedding. The Rosens and our wedding coordinator were there for us from the start. They thought of everything, were in constant communication with us the week of the wedding, and really went out of their way to make sure it would be a day we would never forget.

They succeeded and if only we could relive it all over again!

My bride, Nicole and I chose to work with Diablo Dormido for the warm staff and spectacular name. The outcome was terrific. The venue, the food, the officiant and the day of coordinator were all suggested by Yosef and Rebecca, and they all turned out to be perfectly suited to us.
The locale is beautiful and high up in the hills. The venue the introduced us to is straight out of a John Ford film and the planners, Yosef and Rebecca just knock it out of the park as far as hospitality and being ready for anything. The attendees could not stop talking about how wonderful and serene the wedding was. We strongly endorse Diablo Dormido for anyone looking to have a beautiful small to medium country wedding.

Of course, this is the biggest decision a couple makes prior to getting married, and everyone wants to get it right. We got it right when we had our wedding with the help of Yosef and Rebecca and their team (Diablo Dormido Weddings) at the ULV Preserve. It is a stunning place to have a wedding, and our guests all had a great time. It is definitely not your traditional wedding venue, i.e., a ballroom with a dance floor surrounded by tables, it is much more, as it affords your guests the ability to mingle and get to know each other. That was priceless, as well as having a ceremony in an utterly beautiful setting. Yosef and his wife Rebecca are as nice as possibly can be, and they truly strive to make your event special. Here are some things you should know if you are going to book there. You must be prepared to watch the weather channel, as your meal will be served outdoors. For this reason, we opted to have our wedding ceremony much earlier than sunset, preceded by a long cocktail hour, and we were so happy with that decision; our guests got to soak up the property to its fullest, and after the ceremony, the early evening meal weather was warm, and everyone could see each other, including the people giving the speeches. In other words, with a cocktail hour, an earlier wedding ceremony and dinner thereafter, you take full advantage of the warmth of the sun, and only the party portion is at night. We rented firepits with logs for nighttime that Yosef kindly refilled. Also, although Yosef has a list of great preferred vendors, we opted to use our own, and Yosef was happy to accommodate; that too is rare and we were truly grateful. Yosef provides the venue, parking valets, bathrooms, rental tables and staff, but doing an offsite wedding with food, food staff, food associated rentals (lots of rentals), bartenders, alcohol, flowers, and DJ or band for 150 people including kids takes lots of planning. It worked out amazingly for us, and we highly, highly recommend the Diablo Dormido team, and many of our guests stayed at the Four Season Westlake with preferred rates, that too was a plus. Also, another tip, give your guests REALLY good directions with distances. We have only positives to say about our wedding choice; while it may not be a place for everyone, it was the wedding for us: comfortable, spectacular, with a great vibe. Thank you Yosef and Rebecca, we are very happy we chose to work with you for our wedding.

Tricia and I had our wedding with the help of the Diablo Dormido team this past November. For months afterward we kept hearing over and over from our friends and family, “…that was hands down the best wedding I have ever been to…” or “the food and catering set up was the best I have ever tasted, not just for a wedding, but for any event…” or “every last detail was so incredibly beautiful.” You get the idea. A friend of mine said to me “JP, I don’t think I have ever been to such a perfect wedding, but it seemed not so much a wedding in the traditional sense as it was a joyous celebration of life, love, happiness and friendship.” This last quote is for me the most telling, because when Tricia and I first started to talk about our wedding, we both agreed that we did not want the typical hotel wedding that we had both been to over and over and over again. Diablo Dormido gave us exactly what we wanted and much more, and this was largely due to Yosef and Rebecca, their wonderful guidance and service.
